Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Findr operates Nigeria's national missing persons registry. Because this platform handles sensitive personal information — including the details of missing individuals and the people who report them — we take privacy seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled.
1. Who This Policy Applies To
This policy applies to everyone who interacts with Findr, including:
- Visitors browsing the platform
- Individuals who file missing person reports
- People who submit tips or leads on active cases
- Institutional partners and registered administrators
2. Information We Collect
About missing persons: Full name, nickname, date of birth, gender, height, physical description, last known location, circumstances of disappearance, and photographs.
About reporters: Name, relationship to the missing person, phone number, and email address. This information is collected to verify reports and enable follow-up.
From tip submissions: Any information voluntarily provided, which may include contact details if the submitter chooses to identify themselves.
Technical data: Browser type, IP address, and usage patterns — collected automatically to maintain platform performance and security.
3. How We Use This Information
- To publish and maintain verified missing persons cases on the national registry
- To contact reporters with case updates or requests for clarification
- To forward relevant tips to the reporting party or relevant authorities
- To improve platform functionality and detect abuse
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to any third party for commercial purposes.
4. Public Visibility of Case Information
When a missing person report is approved and published, the details of that case — including the individual's name, photo, physical description, and last known location — become publicly visible on the Findr platform.
Reporter contact details (phone number, email) are never displayed publicly. They are accessible only to Findr administrators for verification and communication purposes.
5. Data Retention
Case data remains on the platform until one of the following occurs:
- The case is marked as resolved (found or deceased), at which point it is archived rather than deleted
- The reporting party formally requests removal
- Findr administrators determine the case is fraudulent or otherwise inappropriate
Archived cases are retained for record-keeping purposes but are removed from public search results.
6. Your Rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), you have the right to:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data, subject to legal and operational constraints
- Withdraw consent for data processing where consent was the basis for collection
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address listed in Section 8.
7. Cookies and Tracking
Findr uses essential cookies to maintain session state and platform security. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Analytics, if used, are anonymised and aggregated.
8. Contact
For privacy-related queries, data requests, or concerns about how your information is handled:

We aim to respond to all requests within 10 working days.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Significant changes will be communicated via a notice on the platform. Continued use of Findr after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
